Weather in Cusco: Temporary Closure of Ausangate, Salk antay Trek and Quelccaya

The weather in Cusco varies with each season because our Pachamama, our Mother Earth, gives us unique places full of history, living culture, and pure nature. This natural diversity makes each time of year special, offering different experiences for those who visit this ancestral land.

During the rainy season, which generally occurs between November and March, the landscapes are transformed. The mountains are dressed in intense green, the rivers gain strength, and the air feels fresher and purer. It is a time when nature is alive and abundant, highlighting the beauty of the Andean environment.

  • Electrical storms (lightning, thunder and lightning)
  • Snowfall in high Andean areas
  • Risks on trekking routes
